The Pandoras – an all-female influential garage punk/pop band formed in Los Angeles in the mid-80s by founder Paula Pierce (singer/songwriter/guitar). The members included Melanie Vammen (The Muffs co-founder), Kim Shattuck (The Muffs co-founder), Karen Basset, and Sheri Weinstein. The band released albums on Bomp!, Rhino Records, Restless/Enigma, and was signed to Elektra Records. Over the years, they toured the US and Canada extensively. The band has been featured on various video and TV shows including The Arsenio Hall Show and MTV, as well as heavy rotation on KROQ and many other commercial radio stations. Tragically, Paula Pierce passed away in 1991.
In 2015, the band reunited with Kim taking over on lead vocals/guitar and began touring the US and Europe. In 2018, the band released Hey! It’s The Pandoras, a 7-song EP which continues to receive heavy airplay on Serius XM’s Little Steven’s Underground Garage. In 2019, Kim Shattuck lost her life to ALS.
Melanie, Karen, and Sheri have continued playing as The Pandoras with Karen taking over lead vocals/guitar. Now joining them on bass is Natalie Grace Sweet. Doing what they've always done, they perform your favorite Pandoras tunes. "We always celebrate the lives of our badass bandmates and family, Paula Pierce and Kim Shattuck, who left us way too young. You are sure to shake your hips and bang your head as you dig a rockn’ fun time!"
